The HDL Ball Check Valve keeps solids, stringy material, grit, rags, etc. moving without the need of backflushing. The ball rolls clear of the waterway providing "full flow" equal to the nominal size. There is no place for sticky material to wrap around; no pockets for sediment to collect; it is basically a non-clog valve. There are no outside levers, weights, springs, dash pots or other accessories needed to correct the deficiencies of the swing (flapper) check valve. The HDL Ball Check Valve has a Nitril (Buna) covered aluminum ball design that provides a positive seal as it comes to rest against the casting of the valve in the closed position. There are no hinges, springs or gaskets that could lead to valve clogging and loss of positive shutoff. The HDL Ball Check Valve has a unique ball design which puts the centre of gravity in the centre of the ball. The result is that the ball floats freely in the open position and randomly seats, thereby utilizing the entire ball surface for sealing. The result is a longer life for the ball and lower maintenance cost. When the pump begins operation, the ball floats completely out of the flow channel and slowly rotates so that it seats in a different spot on the ball surface ater each cycle. This random seating greatly extends ball life! The Elastomeric Ball is the valve's only moving part. To inspect or replace it, remove the valve cover without disturbing the valve mounting. Repairs are easy, inexpensive, and infrequent. |
